I was wondering if anyone had any information on a firewire enclosure which can support multiple drives(4 or more drives). Preferable within the price range of $100-200. Ideally, the enclosure could be Firewire 2 upgradable. Astectics not important, but preferable.

Thanks

Hi,
Just out of curiosity as I am also contemplating having a firewire enclosure. Why not buy a 2nd hand cheapee pc box with Win98 or something, fill with a couple of disk drives and you have essentially the same thing? cross over cable to access the drive over LAN?
Thanks

That's interesting. But wouldn't I have to know how to set it up on the PC side (I know litterally nothing about PeeCees. I've been Mac born and raised) or could I litterally make it a huge harddrive enclosure? If would obviously prefer the latter. I would also prefere the interface to Firewire to LAN (or ideally both with the option for wireless LAN). Also, if I get an used PeeCee, isn't it a possibility that the hardware might not support some of the larger drives, like 200GB or 250GB? Let me know if these are possible. Thanks for the insight.

Nice. I'm surprised I haven't seen one of those before. I could use one.

It'll be nice to see dual drive FW800 enclosures hit the market.
