I don't have the 925, but have been using Epsons for a while. I've had the "printer app closing" issue every now and then. Sometimes, I need to reboot, quit and try again, or unplug/replug the USB or turn on/off the printer for the printer connection to work again.
Are you using 10.2.5 or an earlier OS X version? Have you checked versiontracker for any 925-specific drivers or shareware fixes? Did you make sure to have the printer added via the Printer Utility? Hope you find a fix soon!
