My 10gig iPod seems to be losing the battery charge rather quickly.

I charged it Friday night. The only time I used it over the weekend was for about 5 minutes plugged into my firewire port to transfer music, no battery was used there. I just turned it on and the battery meter is down one mark. This is just one of many times it's done that. Is this normal or a faulty battery? Thanks

I don't have an iPod but I hear that the newest software update (1.2.6 http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ )for it is supposed to fix some battery issues. Give us some specs of what ipod software you have in there, hope that helps.

One "tick" of downcharge after 48 hours of sitting around seems about normal -- You can't expect the iPod to sit around for days and days and keep a full charge... normally this type of battery can lose 5% to 15% of charge per day when just sitting.

With the old battery issues, the iPod would sometimes only give 5 *minutes* of play time if it had sat for 2 days. Now the fact that you'll get 6 or 7 hours on that charge is a marked improvement ;-)

So is it normal for my brand new 4G 20GB iPod to loose all it's charge after 7 days of not being used?

Yeah, I don't think that's all that abnormal.

Nice, bringing up a thread that hasn't been touched in 1.5 years ;-)
