hi all!!


just pluged i my backup FW HD and its not mounting !!! getting a msg to inz the HD or ignore tried it on the other macs got the same msg ... tried Disk Utility with no luck .... after i verifu Disk tells me that it needs to be repaird i did repair like 20 times with no luck i still get " KEYS OUT OF ORDER"

someone please help? without these files i am reallllly screwd

Yikes...sounds like the hard drive just may have went bad.

You're only hope is finding a computer that doesn't think it's a bad drive (if in fact it's *not* bad). It doesn't sound too good considering you've had multiple computers tell you the same error message, but maybe a hard drive expert up here can inform you better.

If you have DiskWarrior, run it! That's saved my FW disk many times.

FW disks are very sensitive how you turn them off... and also if there's a bad firewire cable.

So get a new cable, run DiskWarrior, then always drag the harddisk icon in the trash before you turn off the external FW drive, then unhook the cables.

After I've did that myself I haven't had any problems at all.

dont have diskWarrior as for now ... is there any free SW that does it ? just called the shop that i get my mac SW from and they are out of it need to order online but that may take a while

any other way?!!??
