Hi all -- I have a 1 GHz TiBook with a DVI output. I want to connect my Formac Gallery 1740 display which has a ADC connection (just like any of Apple's LCDs). I was looking at the ADConnect product from Formac, which I can have for a totoal of $80 shipped (overnight shipping, that is). This would be about $30 cheaper then Apple's solution.

Would this work? The product information for the ADConnect just says it will allow you to connect any ADC display to any DVI output, Mac or PC. It does not mention PowerBooks. I called Formac and the guy I talked to, who I could just nearly hear, said he thinks it should work. Heh... not taking his word.

If you're talking about the product HERE , then yep, it'll work! The only reason I didn't go for that is because with my ADC Discount I got the Apple DVI-to-ADC converter for $79.

But yep, even w/ your notebook, it'll do the same thing as the Apple converter.

Well I have it all set up and I must say... wow, dual displays are great!!

BTW, do you use your Cinema HD as your main display with the menu bar, or the other way around?

Dual displays *are* amazing, aren't they?

And when I'm using screen-spanning mode I usually have my Menu Bar & Dock on the 17" PB to allow for more open space on the 23" HD Display to drag apps and windows and such.
