How well does it work? What can you do with your TG50 specifically? How is the surfing experience, and how is getting email, sending email, etc?

Thanks,
M.

old news! I've been doing it for months. I don't know if the thread you linked has the scripts that make things easier. If not I'll post the url here.

Can someone confirm this works for the following setup:

Palm 515
Palm SD Bluetooth card **
Apple USB D-link **
Powerbook G4 connected to Airport - DSL

I have to go and buy the ** items to make this work so I would like to no if its going to be OK :-)

Back in OS 9 days I used to do this with a Palm and the serial cable.

Thanks - Michael

A follow up question to which the answer would be easy if I had a bluetooth adapter!

Do you see anything under the Internet tab on the Sharing system preference when you have bluetooth ?

Just wondering if it picks up the bluetooth and saves you running those Apple scripts. Not that clicking an Apple script is very hard :-)

Thanks - Michael

Not old news to me, which is why I posted it. I searched for a long time without finding this info.

Anyway, yes, the thread has the link to the scripts (one would think it might have been easier for you to click the link and see than to write that post...)

Well, it works quite well. Interestingly I can use it all over my apartment even though I can't hotsync via bluetooth from very far away at all. It's actually a bit faster than I had expected, although it gets slow as you move farther away, I think. Of course viewing PC-formatted sites on such a small screen can be frustrating, but this is a problem common to surfing on most PDAs. And a lot depends on the program you use as well. My Clie came with Clie Mail which seems like a pretty good mail program -- handles attachments etc.

For browsing I've tried Netfront (comes with Clie) and Web Pro (comes with Palm-made PDAs, I guess). They each have their uses. Web Pro is smaller and doesn't attaempt to always recreate the pages formatting, which can make things easier for viewing on the small screen. Net Front looks nicer in general, but it takes up 2MB of room on the internal memory...

Anyway, since you have to be within range of your computer to use this anyway, I'm not sure if normal surfing on the palm makes much sense, but you can use it to get your mail on your palm (something that I couldn't do before) and also to download a webpage for reference (although things like iSilox or Plucker are probably better for that.

Why would I want to do that? I already know how to do it. I'm just giving you crap, Icruise. I found out how to do this over on the brighthand discussion forums.

I hope you didn't take any offense to my post. I was just joking around... Peace.

Have you tried web pro? I've been able to post using it (I'm not sure if it was here or some other forum).
