I just got a HP Color LaserJet 2500L printer. The L model is the one without an ethernet card in it, just USB and Parallel.

I have 2 machines on the network I'm installing it on. A Powermac Dual867 and a Powerbook G3, both running OSX 10.2.5, and both plugged into a Linksys Router getting IPs from it's dhcp server.

I was hoping to plug the printer into the Powermac or Powerbook and turn on Printer Sharing in the Sharing preference pane and then be able to print to the printer from either of the 2 computers.

So I plugged the printer into the PowerMac and made sure it worked on there. I then turned on Printer Sharing, and went over to the Powerbook and opened up Print Center, but it did not see the printer under Rendevous (or any other service).

Am I doing something wrong, or will this just not work? Is there anyway to get this to work? The network card for the printer is another $300 and I'd like a cheaper option than that.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info

Is there a reason why Jaguar Printer Sharing isn't working?
