I got some graduation money, and I am thinking I want to increase my screen real estate with some of it, but I am having real trouble deciding whether I should augment my current 17" Studio Display (FP, 8 months old) with another, or sell my display and and combine the proceeds with the gift money to get a single 20" display. Overall, the 20" would be cheaper, but with another 17", I would only have to deal with cash on hand--no eBay hastles.

The difference would be about $200 more for the dual setup. Another snag is that I'm not sure two displays would fit all that well. Here's a pic of my desk.

I don't think the rear legs of two studio displays would be able to squeeze between my speakers. I could probably move my tower off the desk, or the left speaker onto the bottom shelf on the left, but I really don't want to do either of those if I can avoid it. So instead, I would have to position both displays much farther forward on the desk, and lose a lot of desk space. Obviously, the 20" would fit a lot more elegantly on my desk, but it's so hard to pass up the chance to go dual.

I truly cannot make up my mind. Any guidance out there?
