While I think a wireless monitor would be awesome, I just can't believe that it would be very good. At least for a few generations.

All I need is to have my neighbor be on his cordless phone and me lose signal during a deathmatch. Heh.

802.11a? Ouch.
DDJ

Now we come to step three. This... drives... most... people... crazy.

Actually doesn't that say wireless TV, not monitor?

New Sony Cordless Vega TVs

The KLV-17WS1 and the KLV-15WS1 using the new 5GHz wireless protocol 802.11a to receive a broadband media signal anywhere in the home.
This is the first Liquid Crystal TVs that uses 5Ghz technology on the market.
There have been 2.4Ghz models on the market, but they had interference problems with microwave ovens etc.
Yep, these are Tvs not computer monitors, which is a big difference. TVs are only 640x480, while computer monitors are like 1024x768+ (which is probably the samllest you would see in a desktop, maybe 800x600...) I don't think wireless comptuer monitors are possible at this time do to bandwidth constraints. 1024x768x32 = 24 MB/sec, and 802.11a is only like 7 MB/sec, so not even close.
