My firewire HD continues to spin after the powerbook is turned off ....

...... is this normal?

will it eventually turn off?

or should i manually turn it off, via the switch? [that would be annoying every single time]

Thanks for any help!

If your drive has its own power supply, tt will keep spinning unles you turn it off.

The ones that will turn themselves off are bus-powered units. They draw the power from the FireWire ports of the computers.

Maybe there's hope for yours....
