I have a 5Gb iPod that shows up on my desktop when I plug it in, but refuses to appear in iTunes. The iPod has version 1.2.6 installed and I can open it like a mounted volume in finder but I can NOT for the life of me figure out why it won't show in iTunes. I have tried reseting the iPod, restoring it, updating it (again), formatting it..but every time I plug it in, it still won't show up in iTunes. Any ideas why?
Cheers

This happens on and off for myself, I tend to unplug the IPOD and then restart the powerbook. The IPOD seems to show itself if you plug it in again after logging in from the reboot. I have no idea why it does this from time to time but it scares me every time it does...

Thanks man, that did the trick. About the only thing I didn't try was shutting the powerbook down...hehehe... Anyhow, thanks again.
