Since I moved on to OSX I can't get my scanner to work. I am trying to scan into Photoshop which is in 9.2.2 but it says that the scanner is not connected. I have checked all the cables to make sure they are all connected properly. I reinstalled the scanner software and still no luck.

Umax Astra 6400 scanner
Photoshop 5 LE
OSX 10.1.5 & 9.2.2

Any advice much appreciated.

Is your scanner officially supported by OSX? It may not be, my Canon and Nikon scanners aren't. I now use VueScan by Hamrick Software it is free to try and supports a lot of scanners. Give it a try it might be just the thing.

I downloaded a beta version driver from Umax for OSX, that's all they had but it did nothing at all to solve the problem. I have downloaded Vuescan so I will have a go at that and see what happens. I was reading through a bit of it and it sounds like a very common problem with the Umax Astra scanner trying to scan with OSX installed.
