Or are there 3rd party cases that you would recommend?

The belt clip on my apple one broke, it's an ok case.

I'll be mostly using it in my car and walking around. I would like a case that's thin with a removable belt clip.

When I purchased my original 10gb ipod I dumped the apple case and purchased a sfbags case which was very sturdy and protected the ipod. Unfortunately the sfbags case caused little marks on the sides of the ipod. I now use a marware convertible sportsleeve which comes with a beltclip and an armband. The armband is perfect for jogging and the case being neoprene does not scratch the ipod. I don't think the buttons on the new 30gb ipod I ordered will be available with the old marware (unless i cut perfect circles in the plastic. I will have to wait and see.

Me too, after 3 weeks of ownership. Applecare said they'd replace it but I haven't sent it in yet.

For something Apple charges $39 for, that case is flimsy, flimsy, flimsy!

Definately not worth it. I would recommend the marware and the super dooper, and there are many many more out there which are much better than Apples. I have it, it's simple and sleek and I suppose good enough, but I would not buy one from them my inself. I guess my pov is that it does not provide the kind of protection I would like from it.
