new iPods: anyone know how they SOUND?

As with many iPod'ers, I am a borderline headphone geek. I am always afraid that with new revisions, one goal is usually cost reduction.

I (guess) i am willing to trade off some battery life for the smaller size, but I would not tolerate any dimunition in audio quality.

Ignoring the possible benefits of AAC, has anyone heard the new iPods through good headphones yet?

No one will unless they went to the convention yesterday. Also ipod stores won't have a one on one demo untill friday. But they will sound the same if not better because the new decoding devices.
