I'd usually laugh at this...but someone posted a similar pic of the "fabeled new iPod" about 3 weeks ago, and lo and behold the actual new iPods look exactly like the prototype pic. That design is swank, I sure Apple makes something like that.

It looks as if someone *horror* smashed *horror* the Apple Pro mouse, and stuffed a mini iPod scroll wheel into it!

It's definitely a fake.

First of all, the scroll wheel and the center divide of the two button is off center to the left a little.

Second it still has the left and right hold knobs for when you pick up the mouse while still keeping the button pressed down. The pro mouse now is made so the whole mouse is actually the button. if just those two top cut outs were the button their would be no need for the hold knobs.

Just out of interest, what is the hold button for, I mean why would you want to lift up your mouse whilst holding onto the button?

The hold knob is there for when you get the edge og your mouse pad while you dragging or highlighting. For instance if I'm moving 20 files from one folder to another and I run out out room on my desk or bump up against the computer I'm going to have to pick up the mouse and make room for myself. Without the little knobs to hold onto when I pick up the pro mouse the button gets depressed because the whole mouse is the button.

You use it a lot more than you would think. It happens as second nature you don't even think about using it.

Wow anoetic, I never knew about the hold button. Now that I know what those two knobs were for (thought it was funny design) I will use it more (well whenever I use my pro mouse, I usually use the logitech mx700 and it works like a charm!)

IF that's the real mouse, I'll rather keep my one-button Pro mouse.
