Getting a new iPod to compliment the old-school 5GB model my wife will now use. Once the new iPod comes, I'll rip a bunch more songs onto it... Probably 7-10GB worth total. Obviously, the original 'Pod can't hold that many. What's the easiest way to sync two iPods to the same Mac?

Here's what I'm thinkin':

Rip the new tracks, then sync the 10GB iPod... Syncing every track.

Then go into Preferences and "Manually manage iTunes playlists," or whatever it's called... Be more selective with just what I sync to the smaller-capacity iPod... And voila!

Is that the best way or am I missing something more obvious?

Absolutely. Just get all the playlists/files you want on your new, bigger iPod lined up in iTunes, plug it in and transfer all those files onto your new iPod. Then, plug the other 5gig iPod in and manually transfer them, just be more selective in which songs get to be on the iPod.
