New iPod Unpacking Pictures and Observations

Observations Thus Far:
1. Reboots very fast
2. Is very Small
3. maks a funny beep when iserted into dock
4. Wired remote has new 2 prong plug
5. Comes with plastic plugs to cover the bottom port
6. Touch buttons work very well
7. Scroll wheel is different again from last generation

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. Guess I'm going to have to pick up up soon.

How are the ear buds? Have they improved at all or are they the same?

havent even unpacked the earbuds yet, but from looking at them through the plastic they look identical to the old ones. They just come with black fuzzy covers now instead of the grey ones. Im lettin it charge fully before I mess with it.

Added Pics of the rear of the dock and the new bottom port on the iPod for macfool2002.

This is my second iPod AssassyN, bought a 10GB about 7mos. ago for my wife to use at work. Finally its my turn

I'm not exactly sure why Apple tossed red lights behind the buttons...that doesn't exactly fit the typical Apple-motif, but I guess it's probably the brightest.

What's the firewire adapter for? Is that just a 6-4 pin adapter for Windows machines?

you got it jtbowden, its just a 6 to 4 pin adapter. Nothing more. Prolly like you said for the winblows people.
