Wow, anyone been reading over at Ipoding.com, seems that in the diagnotic mode you can use the left earbud to record 6 seconds of audio, and that there is also a way to use the dock line out to be a line in....
Mine's already ordered, so if input gets updated in 2.1 or something, that'll be a huge bonus!! Maybe a mic attachment to the bottom of the pod....
SO cool! I hope someone comes out with a hack so that we can use it. Then you'd just need to hack up a dock cable (once you get the correct pinouts) with the appropriate connector.
Oh boy. This is EXACTLY the thing I have been waiting for! If they activate this feature, I will be buying an iPod. If not, well, then I guess I will not....
