I have a g4 desktop.
I have a 200gig Western Digital Firewire drive and a 56 gig Buslink.

If I plug them into a firewire port individually, they work great. If I plug the 56gig into the 200 gig, and plug the 200 gig into the machine, I never get both machines. Just one or the other, not both.

Is this a western digital problem, buslink problem, or is it my g4?

any ideas?

I used to have similar problems on a TiBook/400. It seemed to get better in Jaguar, but I believe there was a problem with the first rev of the TiBooks and Firewire. Maybe the G4 desktops had the same problem. What version and OS are you running?

I had this problem on my PC. It seems certain enclosures didn't like others. A hub worked better.
