My Fuji F401 digital camera stopped being recognized as a camera by my system. It will mount the camera's memory as a volume and show it on the desktop. It is no longer recognized as an image capture device in "Image Capture.app", and it does not automatically open up iPhoto 2. If I go to "Import" under iPhoto, it does not recognize any cameras attached. I can import images by dragging the icon from the desktop to iPhoto.

It's been about 2 weeks since I imported anything. The only things that changed are:

1) I added a custom icon to my camera (I've removed it--still no luck).

2) I installed all of that itunes4/qt 6.2/ipod 1.3 software that was released this week (I really doubt this has anything to do with it--no one else had this happen--but just mentioning)


Another attempted fix I've tried with no luck: format the memory card (several times) and tried other memory cards. PLEASE HELP!

Just bumping this up for Monday. I did some research at apple discussions. People were saying that 10.2.5 broke iphoto and cameras. A lot of talk of several Sony and Nikon cameras stopping working.

One person suggested deleting com.apple.iPhoto.plist from ~/library/preferences/. Made no difference. I swear the camera is lost at the OS level, not the iPhoto level.

Does anyone have a Fuji F401 camera they could email me the Apple System Profiler output for? Or *ANY* Fuji camera? Mine is being listed as "[FUJIFILM USB-DRIVEUNIT 1.00] USB Mass Storage", but I don't know what it USED to be listed as.
