I've looked around, but can't find any obvious sources for this information.

How long is the iPod's earbud cable? Most of the time, especially in summer, I don't have a front pocket, so I'd prefer to keep my (forthcoming - ADC order from EMJ) iPod in my pants pocket, and just run the wire up to my ears.

Note that I'm only really interested in the earbud cable length itself, because I ordered the 10 GB iPod and thus I'm not getting the remote.

Its pretty long, over a meter. Should definately be long enough.

The remote cord is about 34" long and the earbud cord is about 31" long.

Is the set of earbuds you get on the 10 GB exactly the same as the set you get on the 15 and 30 with the remote?

It's long. You would have no problem with that at all.
