Just want to know is there any special care to be taken when I want to clean my 17" Apple LCD display screen area (and my PowerBook G4 display screen)?
What sort of things should be used to clean my LCD display? (Dry cloth, damped cloth, any special solvents or cleaning agents should be used or avoided???)
Thanks in advance.

i read that anything alcohol based should not be used. i am really scared about accidentally destroying my ibook screen, so i got iKlear from the apple store.
it comes in a giant bottle, which looks like it will last me until 2047 , and the cloths and some individual, on-the-go-wipes. for $24.95.
the apple store page has all the products that they recommend this for, and all the apple products are there. if apple is recommending it then seriously doubt that it will be harming anything of theirs.

OK, sounds good, but at the end of that page the note says something like "Don't call us if the thing fails on your Mac, even if you bought along with your Mac...". Does that mean the thing might fail and it is your own responsibility if any damages done on your Mac?

Nothing in this world of ours is totally risk free but iKlear is about as good as it can get. It's available for same day delivery in Australia from Softconnect

They put that statement on any page featuring a 3rd party product. It's basically a standard way for Apple to cover itself from the possibility of other companies making crappy products. It's not Apple's fault if, say, your HP printer breaks.
That said, I also recommend the iKlear stuff. Works great on my iBook!
