Was at the nearby MicroCentre yesterday i found that it was selling for that price. All printers were selling at 20% off the normal price.
It was actually 249.99 dollars.

So including tax, it would come down to 212 dollars

Which is still way below AppleStore's asking price of 249 dollars

Sounds like a great deal to me!

That sounds like a great deal for a Canon. I actually edited this email after realizing that the i950 is a printer, not a camera! Oops. I bought a digicam through Circuit City after comparing their price to MicroCenter's during its 20% sale. Big box stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc) typically have a price-matching deal where they beat the lowest advertised local price by 10%. You'll get some hassles and some waiting, but it's worth the effort to get that extra discount.

i've been looking at a replacement for my ailing epson 740, and am looking at getting either the canon i850 or i950 - for $199 the i950 is a great deal, and I've heard a lot of good reviews over at appleinsider. Also, check out PCWORLD.com for their review of it, which was posted only yesterday.

I paid $222 from Amazon.com a couple weeks ago. $200 is a real deal! This printer *is* the best thing since sliced bread! JUMP on that price while you can.

The i950 is a great printer and that's about the lowest price I've seen for it. Just keep in mind that your ink costs will be higher than with an i850, primarily because there are two additional colors. I have an i850 personally, and couldn't be happier with it. Much nicer than my old Epson 740 was.

i think i'll probably going for the i850
i'm in college and would probably need to print lots of text and stuff too

the i850 would cost 128.19 including tax after 20% discount

i could deal with lower ink costs

yep go for it!... I am planning to buy a printer to... I want to get the large format version of the canon 950 though...but I hear that the 9100 which is coming out in a couple of weeks is more of a 900+ than a 9100... but there is a rumor that there is a 4800*4800 canon printer coming out in september... so I might get the 950 now and then give to my mom when the big ass one comes out
