I am on a limited budget and would like some advice on which set of speakers I should get for my iBook. Looks are not important at all, just that they sound fairly good.
I am looking at the Harmon Kardon JBL Creature speakers or the Altec Lansing 2100 3-piece Speaker.
Anyone tell me which would be the best to get?
Thanks

I have the Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers. You can find them anywhere and they are great. It's a 3 piece set and it's pretty heavy on the bass.. I guess that's about the only drawback. Oh, and there's no headphone out from the speakers... that kinda sucks. But they sound awesome for music and games.

I have a set of Logitech Z-340s which sound good. They were inexpensive, and have a headphone jack.
Take a look here (at logitech's pain in the ass web site)

I have the Monsoon PlanarMedia 9 flat panel speakers with a sub and wired remote/headphone input. These are EXCELLENT speakers for under $100. The speakers are very clear and the bass will pound. They look good too!

I have the Altec and I have to say, people (as well as myself) are amazed by the sound. Also, the design blends in with my current office rather than the more odd (cool) look of the JBL. I have been very impressed and pleased with them and have even considered getting another set for when I finally blow these.

I have the PlanarMedia 14's, and I am blasting Godsmack through them right now
They are the best speakers I ever owned... but then again they were $160.

I have these (HK SoundSticks) and I have seriously considered giving up my component system because they are so good. If they had a little more power I would do it. For computer listening these are excellent.

You have to try the Promedia 2.1's! Now these things ROCK! They have a headphone jack AND a jack to plug your iPod in right on the desktop speaker. Can be had starting at 150 if you look around. javascript :smilie(' ')
