Hello,
I have the first iPod model with 5gigs and version 1.1 updater on it; I have installed sftware update 1.3 to gain from AAC compression and clock, calendar...
To my surprise, the iPod doesn't hold a day with full charged battery..
Could you please tell me what I should try to do? Do i have to go back to software 1.1?
Thanks for your advises.
zacharie.

Are you saying that even without the iPod on or playing it won't hold a charge?

If so, you could be in luck. If you call Apple and tell them that, you may actually be able to get a replacement, Apple's been known to replace ones having battery issues, since the battery problem is pretty common. Good luck!

It is not 1.3. I have a first gen 5 giger too and 1.3 has not adversely affected battery life in anyway.

Good luck.

Hello AssassyN, Hello Cambro,
I'll try to drain the battery completely after a full recharge; maybe that could fix up something..I am glad to know it's not version 1.3 which causes my problem though.
thank you.

there's always the restore option, which is worth a try. you can deal with apple, but mess with it a lot first (my recommendation). definitely drain and refill the battery, definitely restore the sw to factory settings (with 1.3).

i'd bet on the restore.
i'm on 1.3 on a 5gig og one and i've no problems. battery life is the same great stuff i've gotten since 1.2.6...

good luck.
