Hi all,

I don't (yet!) own an iPod and wanted to ask a question of those of you who do. I searched these forums and couldn't find an answer elsewhere.

Does the "Comment" ID3 tag that you can view/edit in iTunes get transferred to the iPod? If so, can you view it on the iPod?

To give an example of why I would like to have this feature available. . . I have a set of CDs that contain recordings of bird calls. There are sometimes a dozen different birds per track, and in iTunes I've entered the names of the individual birds in the ID3 "Comment" tag so that I can match up the calls with the bird names. It would be great if this info would be viewable on the iPod so that I could figure out what I'm listening to.

yes it gets tranfered to the ipod.

no you can not view it on the ipod.

Yeah, unfourtunatly not. But I have another idea for a solution. If you buy a new iPod, it has the note reader. I dont know how, but there is probably some script/program to export a list of your music files and all their tags, and then you could put that into your note reader and have it available.

I find it doesnt sync properly on v2.0 though...If I change in itunes/sync and then view the contents of the ipod in itunes the comments are not updated ???
