My 15 inch blueberry apple lcd just died, and I'm looking for something to replace it. I have a a B&W G3 with a radeon 7000 (so vga or dvi plz). I guess I don't care if it comes from apple or not, but I'd like 15-17 inch lcd. suggestions?

the display does this:

the screen stops updating and gets all kinds of freaky designs/colors. it can be fixed by moving the display around a bit, and i've figured out it might have to do with the area in the back there the display connects to the stand...applying pressure there makes it go back to normal. any info is appreciated!!!

I have a Apple Studio 15" blueberry too! 4.5 years old and still going strong, though it's now on a subordinate machine.
I'd already replaced it... with an Apple Cinema Display 20".
I can't recommend this screen enough, it is fantastic. For the same money that you paid for your blueberry 15" in 1999, you can get an LCD which is simply breathtaking.
In my promiscuous role of consultant, I've used most Apple screens and third party ones such as the Samsungs. The 20 inch leaves them all in the dust, it is quite simply the best screen I've ever laid eyes on.
Best thing to do if you're able to see them, is compare.
If you need DVI, make sure you buy the ADC-to-DVI adapter. I have one so I can plug the 20" into a PC as well.

I'm thinking about the new ViewSonic VP171b in the ThinEdge line. It has 1280x1024 resolution and a nice thin black bezel. It also comes with two VGA and one DVI inputs, just in case you want to share your monitor among several CPUs. ClubMac has it listed for $550 and in stock. NewEgg.com has it listed for $540 but not in stock.

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.

I just got a refurb 20" for $1099. This is the best monitor I've ever owned. I love it.
