my ipod is apparently sad because the only thing that shows up on the screen is a sad little ipod with x's for eyes. i think it's dead, but not sure. since the 90 day warranty doesn't apply anymore calling apple was not useful. there's also an icon that pops up if i push and hold menu button. it's a filefolder with a caution sign. like a triange with an exclamation mark.

any know what's going on?

Your iPod heard about the new models.

This made your iPod feel bleak. It was afraid that you would stop loving it and would replace it.

One night, it noticed you were spending time at eBay and thought that the end was near.

This made it very depressed. In a fit of sadness it did the unthinkable.

Definitely one year. I had a 5 gigger with a battery that wouldn't hold its charge. They swapped it out without a second thought. No problem!

Dumb question though. Have you tried Software Restore on your 20 GB?

I don't think that it will show up in the iPod updater for him to run software restore.

Have you tried searching the Apple KnowledgeBase?
