Hi guys,

I am having a strange problem with my new 15GB iPod.

I have set up a couple of smart playlists in iTunes that select songs by 'comment' as well as other fields. This works perfectly in iTunes, but when sync'd to the ipod the comments are not updated. Hence the playlists are empty! The only way I have found to get comments onto the iPod is to restore from the ipod software and re-copy all of my songs from itunes...

Has anyone else experienced this ? or has a soloution ?

Thanks

With an attitude like that, no-one here will be motivated to help you. Maybe it's not the board that sucks. Maybe it's...

Mods, lock in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

Why Locked ???

It was a simple request and not a single person here has offered to help.... That in my opinon makes this board next to useless...

Whats the point if no one is prepared to help ???

No, you are being impatient. And I have no idea what the crap you are trying to do.

And you could try posting it in the already running iPod v3 problems thread, created for problems exactly like yours.

Works fine on mine.

What are the smart playlist settings you are using?

Rubens, it's not nice to be impatient like you've been (leaving just hours between posts). Give it time for people to answer. But by now, no one will anyway because they're pissed off.

Rubens, you got issues babe!

I'd suggest:

If your songs are already on the iPod and you're updating the comment in iTunes, the Mac *may* not be flagging them as needing updating on the iPod.

You can usually tell if sync'ing takes almost no time or a lot of files are being copied.

Try it with fresh songs not already on the iPod and see if it makes a difference.

Yup.

Brand new 15gb v3 iPod.

Worked with New songs not on the iPod, songs already on the ipod...

Worked with Manual updating, Auto-updating
Worked by creating the playlist under the ipod (in itunes), and worked by creating the playlist under my library then copying it to the ipod.

Comment: Is
Comment: Is Not
Comment: Contains
Comment: Does not Contain
and all other permutations therein.

(I am unemployed and have TOO much free time; Someone give me a Job!!)

Did you have "Live Updating" Checked when you made the playlist?

You've got something to learn about human psychology if you think that insulting people will make them help you. Most questions do get some sort of reply, but you have to give it some time.
