ok, got a first generation (5gb) ipod from my folks at Christmas 2001!! its worked flawlessly until i updated to the 1.2.6 firmware and then boom, ipod dies, almost instantly after updating, give or take a few minutes. So i called Apple, expecting to pay for it to be fixed because its 1.5 years old. So they tell me they're gonna send a box for me to send it back. ok, here's the best part...i send back my ipod and the very NEXT DAY i get a call from Purolator to come pick up my box...i'm thinking "no way, they must have accidently sent me back the box" right? wrong!! brand spanking new ipod straight from California to Canada via overnight air mail!!! and its not even the old ipod version, its totally different, case/buttons etc. I'm in complete shock over this and figured i should share this.peace.

Just makes me wonder why. Maybe they broke it so they had to replace it. Maybe it got lost. I mean others have not had this kind of luck. Well, I guess we need a volunteer to break their iPod and see if the samething happens. I would, but it's more of a love thing with my iPod and me.

i defintely realize that i'm extremely lucky, i don't think they lost/broke my old ipod because it wasnt even 24 hours from when i shipped out the broken one and received the brand new one. It was like all they were waiting for was a confirmation that i shipped the broke one. But as i said before i knew the 1.2.6 update killed my ipod instantly and i think the tech's i spoke with must have known it too, or wouldnt have got this one. awsome service!! )
