I just got it today, my first iPod. I ordered it may 7th on Apple's web site. It got here on the 12th, but I was to busy to pick it up. (I must be crazy) I don't really need it, but I'm glad I got one, it followed me all day. I used the dying CD player in my car as an excuse. It made me re-discover music as I spent a week ripping over 1500 songs from my 400+ (legally owned) CD collection, waiting for it. You've got to give Apple credits, sure their products seem to be overpriced, but they do know about packaging. I'm sure it adds up to the cost, but I've never been so thrilled about opening a box. They make the simple opening of a box an experience. (It must be the designer in me talking) Enough about the box.

First: It's light, it's small and it's great, I was suprised about the speed. I was not over excited enough to time it, but the transfer from my computer to my iPod was way faster then I expected, 7.4 Gb in a few minutes. I once tought this was only a cute overpriced player, I was wrong, I love it. The sound is not bad at all. I ripped al my songs in 192 kb AAC. Sweet!
Second: The dock and accessories are well designed and thought of. The dock is nice and it makes the iPod look good. Too good in fact, next to my old CRT Studio Display. I now suffer from Cinema Display envy. Contrary to many, I like the remote, but a display would be neat.
Third: I might start to jog again, just to use it more.
Fourth: Need I say more.

Congrats man! I didn't really need my 2nd gen. 10gig iPod either when I got it for a good price at a Target closeout, but I fell in love w/ it! It's awesome! I use it daily now, and I love it so much I just ordered a 15gig 3rd gen. iPod at that Dell insane sale yesterday and I'm anxiously awaiting it!

I'm still satisfied. I never took this many walks outside, just to listen to music.
I have one complaint: The clicks at the begening or end of songs bothers me a little. I hope they come out quickly with a fix. Crossfades support would also be nice.
