Has anyone seen those "Virtually Indestructable Keybaords"? Thier like the rubber inside of a normal keyboard, only thats thier whole thing. I got a USB one and its kinda cool. Does anyone know of some a number pad version of one of these? I wanna use it to control something, I think something like this will work real good.

here's one that has the numberpad built in:

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...001&depa=1

but i couldn't find a separate flexible number pad. (and separate number pads tend to be really expensive.. the cheapest one at newegg is $23, well into full keyboard territory)

Can anyone point out a 'real reason' for using these keyboards...

If you are using it in with a desktop machine, they are not so cheap as to replace a 'proper' keyboard. They also look less comfortable to use... so why bother?

If you have a laptop, especially one with as good a keyboard as the new Alubooks, you don't want to be carting one of the roll up things about...

Can anyone help me out with some reasonf other than Geek points...

They're probably good for peeps who eat in front of their comps and spill lots of crap. Or if you wanted to set up your cinema display in the bathroom and compute via the tub.

There are plenty of decent uses. you just have to be creative!

On my keyboard, the circuit board is on the right, above the number pad... you think if i simply took a pair of scisors, and cut the number pad off, it would still work? I think that might work, all the other keys would be permanently un-depressed :-)
