I just have to share with anyone interested in purchasing mid to high end computer speakers. I got the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system today and IT ROCKS!!! Two speakers and a sub-woof, perfect set-up for the non-gamer with space issues, it is so absolutely crystal clear, precise, well-defined, and HUGE Loud.

Check-em out.

Great choice! I've had the Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 system on my PC since the week they were released a few years back and I've never changed them. The sound in incredible, Klipsch makes unbelieveable sounding stuff.

Do you actually put the other two speakers behind you?

Absolutely...I mounted mine behind me for the full effect. When playing Couter-Strike, if an enemy is approaching from the back-left side, his footsteps come from that speaker...creepy!

Promedia 4.1s Rock!!!! I have the rear speakers on the side (no way to put them on the back here) and the surround effect is still pretty cool.

Well, I just ordered the 2.1 setup.. Can't have 4.1 unless I put them on... my bed or something.. So I hope the 2.1's are very good. At least better than soundsticks or jbl creature things because I have to wait for shipping as opposed to just going to my apple store and picking up a pair and using right away...

The 4.1 model's have had the known issue of the small sub woofer port which causes distortion and other bass artifacts. So if you were looking into Klipsch, only look at the 2.1 and 5.1 models.

I've got a set of Rev. A ProMedia 4.1's (the very first batch, paid over $400 for them) and the bass they produce has always impressed me. The subs don't distort unless it's so loud it causes ear pain, thus I never turn it up that loud. I've gotten my money's worth and will certainly buy more Klipsch stuff in the future.
