hey all, looking to rip out my DVD rom and replace it with a DVDRW in my tower, any one knwo of a ood one that will work with iDVD or DVD studio Pro?

Only the Pioneer series of superdrives will work. The newest one being the A05.

sweet, any suggestions as to where to buy? and do I ned to get that firmware update off of apple site once I get mine?

Try going to www.dealmac.com I saw one there yesterday for about $180. Keep watching the page for new deals.

The firmware should be on Apple's Support Page. You'll probably need them. Also, make sure to have the drive set on Master (if you have Mirror Doored G4) or else they won't work.
