my new 15GB iPod keeps rebooting..... again and again.
In disk mode, it's OK. Sync with iTunes4, but after I disconnect it, keep rebooting...
Any suggestion?
Right now, it is fine. My iPod is OK.

I currently have the same problem with my 20GB model, and was about to send it back.
What did you do to fix it? I have already done a restore and put a freshly ripped album on there, but I still have the same problem.

The new iPods are buggy as all hell. Wait for a firmware fix and if that doesn't do it take it back.

I have already taken my iPod back and I have a new one.
The thing is that the new one does not have any of the soft / hard reset problems.
I have not reset this iPod at all since I got it.
It seems more responsive as far as butons and meuns are concerned as well.
So as far as I am concerened it was faulty iPod hardware and not firmware.
If you have a problem with your iPod and it needs to be reset every day to use it, take it back and get a new one.
The fact that this problem does not affect every new iPod seems to point to either a batch of faulty hardware (bad chip, etc), or a manufacturing defect.
My new iPod has operated perfectly, except for the clicks between tracks (which will be a firmware fix hopefully)

I'm glad to hear your new iPod is working well. It is kind of disturbing to think that your previous problems might be some kind of hardware problem though, since they seem to be relatively common (although I've not heard of people having quite as severe a problem as you mentioned). Here hoping that my 30GB will be ok when it arrives...

It does look that way to me though as the two iPods were so different.
I had problems with the first one as soon as it came out of the box. It would need to be rest to wake it, button response was very slow, sometimes a delay of 5 seconds before it responded. The battery indication was all over the place, the morning after a full charge it would be down to 50%. Without any use that day it would fall to 25%, then for some reason it would jump back up to 75%.
I have another theory as far as the problems go, may all the iPods are OK when they arrive, but something happens during use that damages the hardware in some way. could it be the new dock ? Maybe placing the iPod on the dock in a certain way causes a bad connection and it upsets the iPod internals. I know firewire is hotswapable but there are many more pins in the connector now.
I only swaped the iPod by the way, I still have the same dock, cable, earbuds, etc, so it does not appear to be any of those items that caused the problem.
For the record my new iPod woke up this morning at the first touch of a button, immediatley, no delay at all. The battery shows a full charge as well, that is so different from the one I returned.
I did ask at the store if they had seen this problem before and they said they had not, and they have sold quite a few of the new models. They did have one that was DOA.
They played with my old iPod for a while and saw the problem, they commented on how sluggish the user interface felt.
This again seems to indicate a problem that does not affect all iPods, but it does manifest itself in enough of them to be a worry.
I'm sure Apple will sort it out one way or another as they wil not be happy with having many of them retuned.
