Cubes are just plain beautiful. Mine has an 800Mhz G4 in it now, and could go up to 1.2 ghz.

The Cube was a work of art. It's great that Cube enthusiasts have kept them viable with processor upgrades.
Although I haven't upgraded mine, it's still very useful as a headless server and for occasional use testing native Mac OS 9 (which won't run on the dual G4).
I still get a tingle every time I see it on my desk. The Cube is one of the all time classic computers.

Did the upgrade myself, took about 2 hours. The Powerlogix upgrades come with a decent DVD documenting the process- it's much better than a printed page to see what's going on.
1.2 is about $500- search over at macsales.com for some fair pricing and good service.

The cube is nice. If it had a super drive or combo drive that would be cool. Also if it had a bigger video card. What about fire wire 800 in it and bluetooth/802.11g hehe
Just ideas.

I always though the cubes were the coolest computers around . . . and they seem very reliable.
Plus you get the satisfaction of knowing you have the same system as "Patsy" from the tv show "Ab. Fab."
cheers,
brian

I shouldn't admit to knowing this, but I *think* the Cube was in Eddie's kitchen and mainly used by Saphy (of course, she's the geek!).
There were also lots of bubblegum iMacs at Eddie's office (along with the plasma screens, designer conference table, etc).
As for Patsy, is she likely to have used one for anything more than stubbing out a cigarette?!

I had a Cube for almost a year. GREAT computer, never missed a beat, and I pushed it hard.

Such a great show.
