Having had my Iomega ZipCD (USB, 4x4x6) for a bit longer than a year now, it has suddenly stopped working. The problems started one day when I noticed the orange light on the burner blinking while making erratic noises. I unplugged it and reconnected it, and tried to burn a test CD to check functionality.

The symptoms are very similar to the problems in this thread, with the difference that I haven't gotten it to burn at all. Also it refuses to mount any CD inserted into it.

I'm on an iMac rev. B (233 Mhz), 160 Mb RAM, running Mac OS S-9.2.2. I've pretty much excluded any software issues (tried Toast, Discburner, tried on a different computer) and cabling (reconnecting, using different cables/USB-ports), so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a fix for it or is it just to toss it?
