Hi i'm thinking about treating myself to an Airport Base Station and Card for my PowerBook 667 Dvi. I have broadband installed at home and was thinking about splashing out today. I know my powerbook doesn't support airport extreme but is it worth getting?

What type of signal and speeds will i get surfing the web? I have broadband 512KB.

Quick replys please thinking about going to buy some goodies in a few hours

For any kind of laptop, definitely. Just make sure you get that WAP security turned on. I get decent download speeds from Apple - like 200kps.

Check out the Linksys routers, though. Airport base stations are hideously expensive.

Yes, but it's not THAT bad. I have my Linksys in the center of the house, downstairs, and I get an "Excellent-Good" signal outside on the deck upstairs. However, with my PC it's ALWAYS "Excellent".
