I just bought the 120G external HD from Smalldog and wanted to hear if others have this drive. Reviews?

Thanks.

The fan on mine makes grinding noises sometimes when I power it up. Besides the occaisional grinding noise the fan itself is somewhat louder than it should be. I think you could unplug the fan and it could be fine, has anyone tried? The large case seems large enough to dissipate the heat.

Other than the fan the drive is great.

Yeah, unplug the fan, they run fine without it.

Thanks much. I had been wating for the $200/120 gig barrier to be broken and when it happened, I didn't consult the boards first.
