Basically this is a FireWire bridge that attaches to an IDE drive, but there is no case.
My question is why would anyone want this? Who carries around caseless hard drives?
Can someone describe a situation in which this would be useful. Without an external case, the hard drive would just be lying around. That can't be good.
And it ain't cheap: FireWire DriveDock with AC Adapter (FWDD-COMBO): $139.95
if i were someone who needed to swap out a lot of internal drives frequently, i'd want something like that. but i'm not... and i don't know anyone who is.
