Per topic, is there any way to hook up a PS/2 style Dell keyboard to a USB port on my 12" pbook? I know there are dongles to go the other way...

Also, is there a key that maps to Command? Windows key?

TIA for responses.

I've bought a Sitecom ps2-usb converter. It has two ps/2 ports. I do have a problem with it, and I don't know if it's this converter, or an Apple usb-bug (which I already have submitted to apple and sitecom).

The mouse has suddenly a problem (I have a logitech mouse), and it only works properly when connected to the sitecom converter. If I connect it directly to the computer or to a usb-hub, it doesn't work. What happens is that the mouse has glitches when you drag. The connection seems to be lost for a millisecond, too short to notice normally (it's not that the mouse movement is disturbed), but when dragging, you "loose" things. And it happens all the time, it simply disables dragging functionality.

So I connect my mouse to the 2nd ps/2 port of the sitecom converter. That works fine.

Then I have another problem: the screen doesn't go to sleep anymore. I stays on all the time.

Please let me know what your experiences are. If you have the same mouse glitch and screen problem. What converter you use. I have a Goldtouch split keyboard, and they do have a usb-version, but with windows keymapping only at the moment. And if you see that mapping, especially of the windows-key, then you'll understand that that isn't the ideal situation.

The command-key is mapped to the windows key.

Yeah, I was gonna say... adapters do exist, but they cost as much as buying a new USB keyboard with out-of-the-box (or at least post-download) Mac support.

(I happen to like [shudder] Microsoft's keyboards. The drivers are written by a well-known Mac USB driver author, so they are actually superb drivers.)
