Hi,

as more of my friends and relatives are moving to broadband, I'm thinking of getting a webcam for videoconferencing. Not all are using macs, most are using pc's.

I'm wondering what cameras people here might be using, and what software have you found useful, easy to use, and compatible with the same version of the software on a pc.

I'm thinking of the firewire cams, so any comments are welcome.

Thanks,

J.

I don't have one - but would suggest an IIDC firewire one - like the orange iBot.

I was watching a WWDC 2002 stream about Quicktime Development and they were very keen on these cameras - and it looks like iChat *may* be update in the future to support them.

I use a Philips ToUCam (much cheaper than FW) with macam and EvoCam
BUT I don't do videoconf with it, but most software use quicktime and are compatible with macam

Works great for me
