Would a 5400 rpm HD reach the full bandwidth of firewire?

I want to get as big of a drive as possible for my firewire enclsoure [oxford 911] , but also at the cheapest price [without sacrificing performance]

If the 5400rpm easily hits the firewire's limit, then I'd rather save the $$$ and get a 5400 instead of a 7200rpm HD ...

Any recommendations ?
