Right now, I keep iCal and Address Book synchronized with both my Palm and the Palm Desktop application. To do this I have to employ a pretty cumbersome workflow. I first synchronize via iSync. Then I open the HotSync Manager to change the Conduit Settings. With the defaults for the Address Book, Date Book, and To Do Lists conduits set to "Do Nothing" I change them to "Synchronize", without making that the default.

The next time I perform a HotSync it will then synchronize items with the Palm Desktop application, instead of iCal and Address Book. This means however that I will have to always hotsync twice, if I want to keep everything in sync. Not only that, I have to manually change those conduit settings every time.

I do understand that iCal and Address book are meant to supplant the Desktop application. However, there are some features that I would very much miss, if I had to give it up completely:

1) Linking of records; while it doesn't show up on the Palm, I can link for example husbands and wifes with each other or an appointment to the address book entry of the person I meet with.

2) I like the integratedness of the Palm Desktop application. I still have to use it anyway, if I want to access my notes.

Bump!

I agree, I like iCal and Address Book is/was my choice, but I have my Palm Desktop with some different addresses and sync the TT2 with Palm Desktop and Address Book is a pain in the head...
Best regards from Colombia!

How did you even get that? As best I can tell, installing iSync conduit actually deleted the Palm address book and date book conduits.

I wanted to turn off iSync sync and back on Palm Desktop sync to experiment a bit more while I decide which app I want to use... and it looks like Apple made it impossible for me to go back. Or am I just missing something?

How do I turn back on Palm Desktop conduits??
