I just swung by the Apple store the other day to pick up an iTrip for my iPod. I thought the idea of having my entire music collection available in my car would be awesome. I read up on the sounds quality not being perfect, but for the most part, the sound coming through my car stereo sounds horrible. The bass isn't really bass, but is more like loud, low static.

Has anyone had better luck with this product? I've tried a few different stations, but not real luck. I live right outside of Washington DC if anyone in the area has had any luck with it.

Suggestions?
Just my $.02 :-)

Yeah, I don't really know. I found that if I had the volume turned up too much on the iPod that the bass would come through has though the speakers could not handle it even though it was on turn up on the car stero, not really sure what is going on there. The other thing I have noticed is that high frequencies tend to get the best sound, don't know why. When I turn the sound down to just over half and turn my radio volume up I get great sound and bass. Again, the best way will always be to wire it into your car stero, but if you don't, this is the way to go. I have had great luck with the product and am very happy with it. I am sure a lot of some of the problems are the kinds of cars and steros in them which may be troublesome for some.

I inserted a tack into the side of mine (outwards.) It makes a decent corn holder. It's also fun to spin on a desk like a top.
