I have the iTrip and think its great, I can get crystal clear sound up to 10 ft away from my stereo and it works in my car. Great.

However, has anyone else found that it sometimes takes a bit of coaching before the itrip recognizes the change fequency files. Sometime I play the files and nothing happens. Then I fiddle with the iTrip a bit, maybe try playing a song, or a different frequency, and then totally randomally it will then start working and I can then change the frequency as many times as I want. Also a couple of times it has switched off for no reason while playing, but not too often.

Has anyone else found these issues? Is there any sure fire way to make sure the iTrip detects the frequency change everytime?

Thanks for your help,

I"ve not had this problem at all. Occasionally it will shut off if you let your iPod sit with no music output for more than three minutes, as it is programed to do.

One sure fire way. Make sure to PAUSE iPod when iTrip's light begins flashing rapidly. It will then pulse three times slowly. Once that occurs, the new frequency is set.

This isn't really problem. Again, that's how it's programmed to work.

It also mentions to set the volume to 40-80% to get it to respond in the manual, took a bit to figure that out

I love my iTrip. Yeah, it takes a little bit getting use to changing the stations, however if you follow the directions "exactly" as written you'll have no problems. If you're like me and just glance over them when you get a new toy, you're gonna miss it.

You know I also wanted to comment, as an aside, how well the iTrip goes with the iPod, I mean it's a perfectly matched device. Even the box the iTrip came in matches the box the iPod came in. You gotta love Griffin for their attention to detail on this, product.

Edit: I just noticed that if you still have the original brown shipping box that the iPod Box (and of course the iPod) came in and remove the styrofoam packing, the iTrip box fills that difference exactly. Umm, I need some sleep.
