My wife does graphic design. She needs a Postscript printer that works in OS X. Also needs to do 11 x 14.

Well, she can't go wrong with an HP LaserJet. The 5100 series is the smallest large-format model they make. It's pricey, but it'll last pretty much forever.

Used LaserJets are not bad, either, by the way, although of course you generally don't get a warranty on it, and it won't be as high-res or high-speed, but often it's enough.
