I'm interested in buying a LCD monitor that supports a resolution greater than the apparently standard 1024 x 768 for 15" desktop displays. Certainly with Powerbooks and laptops, higher resolution 15" screens are the norm. What viable options are available? I've tried searching though the specs for manufacturers such as Sony, but to no avail; and Apple start at 17".

The reason for wanting to go with this route of increased screen real estate is because desk space is at a premium--remember, everything is smaller here in the UK... A 17" would be a last resort under the circumstances.

Any advice much appreciated.

I doubt anyone is making an LCD with a higher resolution. Would be nice, but there is really no market for it.
You can find a lot of the 15 studio displays on ebay...even GBR ones
