There are still a few 2G 20G iPODs out there for some really good prices. I feel the need to upgrade my 5Gb iPOD so I was seriously thinking about getting a 20Gb since there is that extra 2hours of battery life.

Can any one suggest good reasons not to buy the 2G iPOD and instead go for the 3G iPOD.

BTW, can you use the 3G iPODs as a photo storage device now that it has USB?

Not yet, at least not directly. Theoretically the USB wold at least help you do

camera->PC at internet cafe->iPod

but its just silly that we still cannot go

USB (or FW) card reader -> iPod

Keeping my fingers crossed that Apple will get its head out of the sand on this one.
