I finally found a DE-650 for my Newt but I'm having a horrible time with it. When I insert the card into my Newt it says that the memory card is read only and there is a problem with it. This has me rather buggered.
I've got the NIE 2.0 kit installed as well as the most recent ATLAN drivers I can get my hands on. Are there any other packages I need to install for this card to work? Should I maybe remove those packages and reinstall them to see if it helps? I recently picked up a DIN8-DB9 serial cable so I can plug my Newt into a PC as my Powerbook doesn't have any means to communicate with it except Ethernet.
I've already tried the NTLK mailing list and the only response I got was maybe the card is a DE-650+ which has a different chip in it than the DE-650. I've got the original packaging and everything for the card and there's nothing that would suggest its a DE-650+. The back of the card even says specifically it is a DE-650.
I've got an MP2000 with NOS 2.1 with 2641K used and 882K free. As far as I know the DE-650 works but it might be the problem itself, I can get my hands on a PC laptop with a PCMCIA slot to check it out if nothing else seems to work. Before I do that does anybody have any other suggestions?
